Introduction
Hello my name is Mkwawa and I am obsessed with creating a Utopian society. This obsession has lead me to create a hypothetical Utopian society which anyone can use to create a better model or can help make it a reality.
To understand my hypothetical Utopian society and how it would function, we will have to analyze its infrastructure, morality, metaphysics, government and how the current world can transition to the Utopian society.
In this article we are going to analyze all the 5 aspects of the Utopian society and help the reader fully understand how a Utopian society would function. Let us start by discussing the infrastructure of a Utopian society:
The infrastructure of a Utopian society
Every society and government in existence is dependent on technology and innovation since without certain technology or innovation most systems of government wouldn’t function.
A Utopian society would also be dependent on certain technologies or infrastructure which first needs to be created for the utopian society to exist.
The infrastructure of a Utopian society consists of its Basic architecture, Fantasy studios and education system. Let us now look at each infrastructure:
Basic architecture
Basic architecture is the infrastructure that will allow people to obtain their basic needs in a Utopian society.
The basic architecture of a Utopian society would consist of self cleaning houses connected to a fully automated food hub that would handle all chores involved with food and a fully automated clothes hub that would handle all chores involved with clothes saving people time and increasing convenience in the home.
When people in a Utopian society need food they would order from the food hub through an app and the food would be brought to them through pods that pass through small tunnels. Once they finish eating they would return the dirty dishes to the food hub in pods that pass through the small tunnels. The dishes would then be automatically cleaned and stored.
When people in a Utopian society need clothes they would order from the clothes hub through an app and the clothes would be brought to them through pods that pass through small tunnels. Once they finish wearing the clothes, they would return the dirty clothes to the clothes hub in pods that pass through the small tunnels. The clothes would then be automatically cleaned and stored.
The houses won’t have a kitchen, closets etc. allowing them to be simple enough to be designed to be fully cleaned by autonomous robots that can also pass through the small tunnels.
Fantasy studio
Fantasy studio is the infrastructure that will allow people in a Utopian society to perform as characters in fantasies and obtain their emotional needs in a Utopian society.
Fantasy studios are able to allow people to perform fantasies through providing the venues such as houses, schools, shops etc., characters such as family members, friends, strangers, coworkers etc., accessories such as clothes, shoes, weapons etc. and stories such as fully scripted stories, stereotypical stories etc. a person would need to act as a character in a fantasy.
Through Fantasy studios a person in a Utopian society would be able to be any character such as a celebrity, musician, CEO, detective, thief, jerk etc. and obtain the emotional experience derived from embodying the characters.
Education centers
Education centers are the infrastructure that will allow people to learn and educate themselves in a Utopian society.
Education centers consist of content, gadgets, rooms etc. that will allow a person to self educate without a need for a tutor or a school.
Through these education centers, residents of a Utopian society will be able to learn anything they wish for free.
Conclusion
So Basic architecture, Fantasy studios and Education centers are the basic infrastructure needed for a Utopian society. Let us now move on and look at the morality of a Utopian society:
Morality of a Utopian society
The morality of a Utopian society would consist of the principle of “To use Fantasy studios to express emotions that are harmful to the Utopian society so that you can express emotions according to the social situation in the Utopian society.”
This will result in most citizens of the Utopian society being civilized and friendly in the real world since they know they can be different and radical in Fantasy studios making them easily follow rules and regulations of the Utopian society.
This morality will be taught to children, teenagers, adults etc. in a way that allows them to fully understand it and use it as their moral compass. The following are examples of how a Utopian society would condemn bad behavior and provide a solution to them:
“Bullying is not bad, but bullying others in the Utopian society is bad because it causes harm to them. If we want to embody the bully stereotype, we should do it in Fantasy studios which provide a safe environment where we cause no harm to others.”
“Racism is not bad, but being racist to others in the Utopian society is bad because it causes harm to them. If we want to embody the racist stereotype we should do it in Fantasy studios that provide a safe environment where we cause no harm to others.”
“Simping is not bad, but being a simp for someone in the Utopian society is bad because it causes harm to you. If we want to embody the simp stereotype we should do it in Fantasy studios in a safe environment where we cause no harm to others.”
This morality of emotions being part of the human personality and that they are good or bad based on the type of society, has been shared by many great thinkers in history such as Nietzsche, Jung etc.
Most concluded that every society victimizes a group of its members whose personalities have affinity for emotions deemed harmful by the society.
Hence the best solution is to build an outlet like Fantasy studios where people can express any emotion in a safe environment.
Metaphysics of a Utopian society
The metaphysics of a Utopian society consists of the meaning of life provided by the Utopian society which states “The meaning of life is to obtain basic needs so that we can gain emotional and rational needs”
What the meaning of life means for the individual
This meaning of life is inclusive because the emotional and rational needs part can be interpreted according to individual needs.
So for a religious person, part of their rational needs might be to learn about their religion and practice their religion. For a minority group, part of their rational needs might be to teach and practice their culture. For a scientific person, part of their rational needs might be to learn about science and practice science etc.
While the emotional needs side is also interpreted individually with people having a choice on the fantasies they would like to live to express their emotions.
So everyone from all religions and backgrounds would find the Utopian society welcoming since everyone is guaranteed the freedom to practice their religious beliefs, cultures and their other emotional and rational needs.
What the meaning of life means for the collective
The meaning of life for the collective would be to improve and maintain the infrastructure that makes the Utopian society possible.
So members of the Utopian society will have as part of their rational meaning of life as to improve or maintain some part of the infrastructure of the Utopian society.
Hence the rational meaning of life for members of the Utopian society will differ from those of normal people which usually are in the line of helping others obtain their basic needs since all members of the Utopian society will be able to obtain their basic needs.
Conclusion
After understanding the infrastructure, morality and metaphysics of the Utopian society, let us now study the utopian government that governs a Utopian society.
Utopian Government
The utopian society will be guided by the utopian constitution which follows the principle that every government position should be chosen based on merit. Let us now discuss the utopian constitution:
Utopian constitution
The utopian constitution explains the 5 main aspects of the government of a Utopian society and how they function. The 5 main parts of the utopian government are the federal and local governments, institutions, members, bills and vision. Let us now look at all 5 main aspects:
Federal and local utopian governments
The utopian government is divided into the local utopian government and federal utopian government. These two governments together form the utopian government.
The local utopian government is responsible with running the Utopian societies meaning it has power over the specific utopian societies it governs.
The federal utopian government is responsible for collective goods and services concerned with all Utopian societies meaning it has power over all utopian societies.
Institutions
Both the local and federal utopian governments are made up of main and sub institutions. Let us now look discuss both institutions.
Main institutions
There are 12 main institutions in the utopian government. The 12 main institutions are: Food, clothes, shelter, energy, water, communication, transportation, health, education, entertainment, security and law.
These 12 institutions are responsible for maintaining basic architecture (food, shelter, clothes, energy, water, communication, health, security and law), fantasy studios (Entertainment) and education centers (Education).
Sub institutions
Members of these 12 main institutions can create new sub institutions that can handle and maintain other sectors concerning their institution in a utopian society. For example;
Members of the entertainment institution can start a dance sub institution, a sports sub institution etc.
Members of the transportation institution can start an air travel sub institution, a railway sub institution etc.
Members of the energy institution can start a nuclear power plant sub institution, hydro electric power sub institution etc.
Conclusion
So the utopian government is made up of 12 main institutions responsible for maintaining Basic architecture, Fantasy studios and education centers in a utopian society and sub institutions within the 12 main institutions responsible for other sectors of the main institutions.
These 12 main institutions and their sub institutions are responsible for all government affairs and hence the government of a Utopian society doesn’t have a parliament, executive or judiciary branch.
After discussing institutions of the utopian government, let us now look at the members of the institutions:
Members of institutions
Membership of institutions in the utopian government is based on merit hence each main and sub institution has its own merit based criteria for being a member.
So there are 2 types of members in every institution: Active members and Non active members. Let us now analyze the two types of members of institutions, starting with active members:
Active members
Active members are members of institutions who do work in utopian societies for the institution.
Example of active members of institutions are such as the people who will be stocking up the food hub, the maintenance workers who will be checking the machines, the people who will be cleaning the venues for fantasy studios etc.
Active members are paid from the money members of a utopian society pay for the services. So if an active member works in the food hub the money they are paid will be from the money people pay for the food, if they work in venues then the money they are paid will be from the money people pay for fantasy studios etc.
To be an active member you have to meet a certain criteria of merit such as studying a certain profession or knowing a certain skill and a certain criteria of loyalty such as living in a utopian society where the work for the active member is located.
This criterion of merit is chosen through voting by non active members of the main or sub institution. When there are many active members in an area, they can choose to do it part time so that each can have more time to do other things.
Active membership is taken as necessary work that has to be done and the goal is to automate all work in institutions and have no active member in the utopian government.
Non-active members
Non-active members are members of the institutions who make decisions for the institutions and utopian societies. The decisions cover the maintenance, innovation and regulations of the institution and utopian societies.
Examples are such as creating regulations for the food hub, creating regulations for water use, pricing the services in the society, choosing and paying the active members, setting funds for innovation, creating the criterion for membership of the sub institutions etc.
Non active members interact and vote online allowing decisions to be quick and simpler to change. Non active members are not paid and instead get the power to decide the future of the utopian society.
They also get prestige and find it easier to get supporting characters in fantasy studios since people respect the work they are doing.
Anyone can be a non-active member since the only regulation for being a non active member is to study the necessary course for that main or sub institution.
Bills
Bills are changes proposed by a non active member of a main or sub institution in the federal or local government to be voted for by other non active members in the respective institution. There are 3 main requirements for the bill:
Vouching
The bill is voted on when more than 10 to 50% of non active members vouch for it. What this means is that the non active member who proposes the bill has to first convince a certain percentage of other non active members to vouch for his/her bill before it’s allowed to be voted for by all non active members.
The non active members of a respective institution choose the percentage of vouching needed before a bill is allowed to be voted for in their respective institution.
Time taken for vote
Once the bill has been vouched for and allowed to be voted on, it should not take more than a month for the bill to be voted on.
The non active members of a respective institution choose the time it takes for the bill to be voted for. If a non active member hasn’t voted for the bill after that period of time then the bill can pass using the votes that where voted.
If it is rejected, the non active member who proposed it can either edit the bill and propose it again or discard the bill completely.
Call to action
The bill has to explain how it will take action when it’s accepted. This is to ensure all bills are practical and allow for the development of the utopian society.
Government bill
A government bill is a special bill that can be proposed by any non active member and allows for a person to change the form and style of the utopian government. The bill follows the same rules but is voted for by all members of all institutions in the federal and local utopian governments.
Vision
The utopian government is a meritocratic government that allows people to be able to change everything about the government through merit.
The non active members of the utopian government can change any rule, regulation or policy in the local or federal utopian government by using bills and they can also change the style or form of the utopian government by using the government bill ensuring the whole form of utopian government can be changed.
The reason the utopian government is made easy to change is that the structure, rules and policies of any government are shaped by the current circumstances in the world hence its paramount that the utopian government can also change as fast as the circumstances.
Leadership and governance is a game where the circumstances are constantly changing meaning the rules should also be able to evolve as quickly as the circumstances.
Examples of how the utopian government works
Private sector
Most private companies are for goods and services for entertainment such as luxury foods, accessories, content etc.
People prefer to start sub institutions for innovations that are ignored by the main institution since it’s easier to get revenue, funding and workers or active members.
Private companies get registered and regulated by the respective institution through their regulations. So for example you want to sell sweets in a local utopian society, you simply follow the food regulations for that local food institution and have your product in the food hub as soon as you finish.
If you see that the regulations are unfair, you can study and become a member of that local food institution and bring a bill to change the regulation which will be voted for by all other non active members of that particular local or regional food institution or you can work with someone who is a member of that local food institution to bring a bill.
So regulations for private companies will differ depending on the institution the company needs approval from and the regulations of that particular institution in the area.
Natural resources
Natural resources fall on the institutions that mostly use them. For example gold and tanzanite mining fall on the entertainment institution since they are mostly used for entertainment while copper mining falls on communication institution since they are mostly used for communications.
So members of the institutions can decide to build sub institutions for their respective natural resources and create merit based criterion to become non active members of the sub institutions. The sub institutions can then decide if the mines should be operated, how the money obtained is used etc.
National parks
National parks are mostly used for entertainment and hence fall on the entertainment institution. This means that the non active members of the entertainment institutions will decide through votes on how the national parks are run in a utopian society.
For example they can decide to have an entertainment sub institution called national parks sub institution which will have its own criteria to join and have its own criteria for people who want to be active members in the institutions.
The point is that the non active members of the entertainment institution will decide on how they want the national parks sub institution to be organized and they can easily change the organization through voting whenever there is a sufficient reason to do so.
Sports
Sports are mostly used for entertainment and hence fall on the entertainment institution. This means that non active members of the entertainment sub institutions will decide through votes on how the sports are run in utopian society.
For example they can decide to have a sports sub institution instead of different sub institutions for different sports or it can have various sub institutions for different sports etc.
The point is that the non active members of the entertainment institution will decide on how they want the sports sub institution to be organized and they can easily change the organization through voting whenever there is a sufficient reason to do so.
How to change regulations in a utopian society
As explained in the other sections, to change regulations in a specific institution of a utopian society, a person can study and become a non active member of the specific institution and create a bill that changes the regulation and then they can convince other non active members to vote for the bill and once it passes they will have successfully changed the regulation.
How Research and development is conducted in a utopian government
Most research is carried out by institutions through their research programs funded by revenue they obtain from the services they provide such as selling food for the food hub, renting clothes for the clothes hub etc.
Since research by the institutions will mostly focus on automating the different systems, private companies can also deal with innovations and products do not invest in. For example the transportation institution might focus on self driving cars and self flying airplanes while private companies might focus on space travel etc.
Transition to a utopian government
Introduction
The transition of the current governments to utopian governments will take place at the national and local level. Let us start by discussing the national level transition to a utopian government:
National level transition
The national level involves the federal utopian government entering into contracts with the government and powerful private companies to find concessions and goals that if achieved or reached will lead to the government seceding power to the utopian government.
Let us first discuss how the federal utopian government will conduct the national level transition of governments to a utopian governments:
Government
At the national level for the government, the transition will involve the federal utopian government using diplomacy and talks to reach agreements with a government on specific targets that if reached by the federal utopian government, it will dissolve itself and allow the federal utopian government to run the country.
The agreements will include the specific targets, concessions and how the dissolving process will take place. The federal utopian government will use three arguments to convince countries to transition. The 3 arguments are: The ethical argument, the rational argument and the emotional argument.
Ethical argument
The main ethical argument that will be used to convince governments all over the world to transition into a utopian government is that the utopian government is a pure meritocracy and has no single leader but is lead by people of merit who volunteer to lead the nation.
This argument will include how the regulations, rules and system of government can be changed by the people easily and hence its fairness and ability for future generations to change the system.
So government of a Utopian society will be promoted as the most fair government since it allows everyone to have power in the government have a chance to change the government for the betterment of all in the society.
Emotional argument
The main emotional argument that will be used to convince governments all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that the utopian government will promote the fact that the government leaders accepted and are positively working on helping the utopian society be created in the country allowing the leaders to be honored and valued by the citizens of the country.
The other emotional argument that will be used to convince governments all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that we all know that the world will one day unite and that it’s their chance as government leaders to be part of history forever as people who united the world.
Rational argument
The main rational argument that will be used to convince governments all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that in a utopian society the government leaders and members will live better lives and will have a more secure tomorrow compared with the current situation. This will involve praising the basic infrastructure, morality and metaphysics.
Private companies
At the national level for the powerful private companies, the transition will involve the federal utopian government using diplomacy and talks to reach agreements with the private companies on transitioning their companies to creating products or services for the utopian society.
The agreements will include the specific targets, concessions and how the dissolving process will take place. The federal utopian government will use three arguments to convince private companies to transition. The 3 arguments are: The ethical argument, the rational argument and the emotional argument.
Ethical argument
The main ethical argument that will be used to convince private companies all over the world to adapt for a utopian society will be that the utopian society will not cause them to become bankrupt or lose their wealth.
If the utopian society directly competes with the business then it can transition to being used in fantasy studio allowing the business to help the utopian society while still having an advantage for its owner such as shops, food businesses, clothes businesses etc.
The business owners can use their wealth with the help of the utopian government to create new businesses that create products or services used in utopian societies allowing the business owners to still have power and prestige in the utopian society.
The business owners can also invest their wealth in the utopian government by starting sub institutions and gaining prestige and respect in the utopian society.
Emotional argument
The main emotional argument that will be used to convince business leaders all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that the utopian government will promote the fact that the government leaders accepted and are positively working on helping utopian societies be created in the country allowing the business leaders to be honored and valued by the citizens of the country and ensuring there new business ventures flourish.
The other emotional argument that will be used to convince business leaders all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that we all know that the world will one day unite and that it’s their chance as business leaders to be part of history forever as people who united the world.
Rational argument
The main rational argument that will be used to convince business leaders all over the world to transition into a utopian government will be that in a utopian society the business leaders will live better lives and will have a more secure tomorrow compared with the current situation. This will involve praising the basic infrastructure, morality and metaphysics.
Conclusion on the transition at the national level
The transition to the utopian government at the national level will look different for different countries depending on the concessions and agreements the federal utopian government has agreed with the government and the business leaders of the country.
After understanding how the transition at the national level will be conducted, let us now discuss how the transition at the local level will be conducted:
Local level transition
The local level transition involves starting utopian societies in different parts of the country and expanding them so that most of the population lives in a utopian societies.
The most important aspect for any new society is how it will be able to transition and change the existing society into the new society. The following are the 4 steps involved with turning any society into a utopian society:
Building utopian apartment complexes
The first process to introduce a utopian society into an area is to build utopian apartment complexes in the area. These apartment complexes will be cheaper and more convenient than normal homes.
The complex will consist of the residential hub, food hub and clothes hub that will all be operated automatically allowing residents of the apartments to be free from house chores and have a lower cost of living than the surrounding population.
After building and equipping the apartment complexes with all the necessary things needed, the next step will be to get people in the nearby area to switch to living in utopian apartment complex:
Getting owners of venues to rent in utopian apartments
The second process is getting owners of the nearby venues such as schools, shops and houses to switch to living in utopian apartment complexes.
The deal will be that they will live in utopian apartment complexes without paying rent in exchange they will let utopian society freely use their houses, shops, super markets etc. for fantasy studios.
Using Aristotle’s method, they will be presented with 3 types of arguments; the rational argument, the ethical argument and the emotional argument. Let us look at all three:
The rational argument
The main rational argument given to the owners of venues is that they will get houses in utopian apartment complexes that will allow them to live free from house chores saving them time and increasing their convenience.
The second rational argument given to the owners of venues is that by living in utopian apartment complexes they will have a lower cost of living compared to the cost of living when they lived in their normal houses. The reduction in cost of living will be seen across the board such as:
In basic needs such as food, clothes, water energy etc.
In education since it will be free allowing people to never have to worry about their child’s education.
In communication since internet will be free in the complexes.
In health since the doctors and all health workers will be living in a utopian society hence have a reduced cost of living making them charge less for medicine, diagnosis etc.
The ethical argument
The main ethical argument given to the owners of venues will be that they are spear heading the future of humanity and ensuring we become a more equal and prosperous society by living in utopian apartment complexes.
The second ethical argument given to owners of venues will be that they are helping people express their emotions through their venues ensuring the society has people with an emotional balance reducing evil in society.
The emotional argument
The main emotional argument given to owners of venues is that if they don’t accept switching to the apartment complexes the area will be uninhabitable since most of the services such as transportation, shops and people will move to utopian apartment complexes making it harder and expensive to live or rent there.
Getting people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes to join utopian apartments
The third process is getting people who will lose their jobs because of utopian apartment complex to switch to living in utopian apartment complexes.
These people include the people who work on transportation, sell clothes, food, pharmaceuticals etc. in the area where the utopian apartment complexes will be created.
These people will lose their jobs and businesses because members of utopian apartment complexes will have a lower cost of living allowing them to sell at a lower price hence out selling other people.
The deal will be that they will live in utopian apartment complexes without paying rent in exchange they will give a certain number of hours a week to be non-playing characters in fantasy studios.
Using Aristotle’s method, they will be presented with 3 types of arguments; the rational argument, the ethical argument and the emotional argument. Let us look at all three:
The rational argument
The main rational argument given to people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes is that they will get houses in utopian apartment complexes that will allow them to live free from house chores saving them time and increasing their convenience.
The second rational argument given to people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes is that by living in utopian apartment complexes they will have a lower cost of living compared to the cost of living when they lived in their normal houses. The reduction in cost of living will be seen across the board such as:
In basic needs such as food, clothes, water energy etc.
In education since it will be free allowing people to never have to worry about their child’s education.
In communication since internet will be free in the complexes.
In health since the doctors and all health workers will be living in utopian society hence have a reduced cost of living making them charge less for medicine, diagnosis etc.
The ethical argument
The main ethical argument given to people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes will be that they are spear heading the future of humanity and ensuring we become a more equal and prosperous society by living in utopian apartment complexes.
The second ethical argument given to people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes will be that they are helping people express their emotions through their venues ensuring the society has people with an emotional balance reducing evil in society.
The emotional argument
The main emotional argument given to people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes is that, business wise, by moving to utopian apartment complexes they will have a competitive advantage anywhere else they go.
The competitive advantage will be brought by the fact that they have a lower cost of living than other people allowing them to offer lower prices anywhere they set up business making them get customers fast and out sell the competition.
Creating stories for fantasy studios and marketing them
So after the first three steps utopian society will have venues, accessories and non playing characters for fantasy studio which it obtained from venues owners and people who were in risk of becoming jobless because of utopian apartment complexes.
The fourth step is to introduce a utopian society in an area, is for the utopian society to create and market stories for fantasy studios. The fantasy studios will be for children, adults and people of all ages.
Using Aristotle’s method, all fantasy studios will be marketed emotionally, rationally and ethically.
Emotional marketing
The first way the fantasy studios will be marketed is based on the emotions they will allow a person to experience that they cannot experience in real life.
This includes sexual fantasies which will relate more to young adults, violent fantasies which will relate more to children, submissive fantasies, romantic fantasies etc.
Rational marketing
The second way the fantasy studios will be marketed is based on the rational aspect of doing the plays.
This includes the reasonable price of the fantasy studios since people only pay for the maintenance of the venues and accessories, the safety aspect of fantasy studios as safety is the top priority in any fantasy studios and the anonymity of fantasy studios since a person can do a fantasy studios anonymously without the need to reveal their real identity.
Ethical marketing
The third way the fantasy studios will be marketed is based on the ethical aspect of doing the plays.
Fantasy studios will be marketed as allowing you to express emotions that are harmful to others hence making you a better person to others and allowing you to express emotions that are harmful to yourself hence reducing the chance of you being emotionally used or abused by others for their own benefit.
Growing the utopian society in an area
After the fourth step is complete the utopian society will have formed with it earning money from both the utopian apartment complex from selling food, clothes etc. and fantasy studio through selling fantasies.
Hence after the initial investment, the money and resources needed to turn a place into a utopian society is obtained from the fantasy studios and utopian apartments.
The money obtained can be used to open new utopian societies in nearby areas until the whole location turns into a utopian society allowing the growth of utopian society to be organic in an area.
