The meritocratic society project

Meritocratic society

A meritocratic society is a society that uses meritocratic apartments to obtain their basic needs, community hubs to obtain their emotional needs and is governed by the meritocratic government.

Let us now discuss the meritocratic apartment, community hub and meritocratic government that make a meritocratic society possible:

Meritocratic apartments

Meritocratic apartments consist of self cleaning houses connected to a fully automated food hub that would handle all chores involved with food and a fully automated clothes hub that would handle all chores involved with clothes saving people time and increasing convenience in the home.

When people in meritocratic apartments need food or clothes they order from the food hub through an app and the food or clothes would be brought to them through pods that pass through small tunnels.

Once they finish eating or wearing the food or clothes respectively they would return the dirty dishes or clothes to the food or clothes hub in pods that pass through the small tunnels.

The dirty dishes or clothes would then be automatically cleaned and stored.

Since the houses wouldn’t need any appliances or infrastructure for food or clothes such as kitchen, closet, fridge etc. they would be simple enough to be fully cleaned by cleaning robots

After discussing the meritocratic apartments, let us now discuss the community hub:

Community hub

The Community hub provides the members of the meritocratic society with infrastructure to allow them to live different lives in different communities and obtain their emotional needs in a meritocratic society.

The infrastructure community hubs provide include venues such as houses, schools, shops etc., characters such as family members, friends, strangers, coworkers etc., accessories such as clothes, shoes, weapons etc. and life stories such as fully scripted life stories, stereotypical life stories etc.

So if a member of the meritocratic society wants to live a life as a musician the community hub will provide them with venues such as concert arenas, music studios etc., characters such as managers, fans, friends etc., accessories such as clothes, shoes, chains etc., life stories such as cocky musician life story, humble musician life story etc.

Through Community hubs a person in a meritocratic society would be able to live as any person such as a celebrity, musician, CEO, detective, thief, jerk etc. and obtain the emotional experience from that life.

Before we discuss the meritocratic government, let us discuss the morality and metaphysics of a meritocratic society so that we can get a better understanding of the meritocratic government:

Meritocratic Government

The meritocratic government is a government that follows the principle that every government position should be chosen based on merit.

Division of government

The meritocratic government is divided into the local meritocratic government and the federal meritocratic government.

The local meritocratic government is responsible for specific meritocratic societies while the federal meritocratic government is responsible for all meritocratic societies.

Institutions

Both the federal and local meritocratic governments consist of 12 main institutions. The 12 main institutions are food, clothes, shelter, energy, water, transportation, communication, health, education, law, security and entertainment.

Members of these 12 main institutions can create new sub institutions that can handle and maintain other sectors concerning their institution in a meritocratic society. For example;

Members of the entertainment institution can start sub institutions for dance, sports etc. Members of the transportation institution can start sub institutions for air travel, railway etc. Members of the energy institution can start a sub institution for nuclear power, hydro electric power etc.

Membership

Membership of institutions in the meritocratic government is based on merit hence each main and sub institution has its own merit based criteria for being a member.

There are 2 types of members in every institution: Active members and Non active members. Let us now analyze the two types of members of institutions, starting with active members:

Active members are members of institutions who do work in meritocratic societies for the institution. Examples are such as people who work in the food hub, characters working for the community hub etc.

Active members are paid from the money members of a utopian society pay for the services. So if an active member works in the food hub the money they are paid will be from the money people pay for the food, if they work in venues then the money they are paid will be from the money people pay for fantasy studios etc.

Non-active members are members of the institutions who make decisions for the institutions and meritocratic societies. The decisions cover the maintenance, innovation and regulations of the institution and meritocratic societies.

Examples are such as creating regulations for the food hub, creating regulations for water use, pricing the services in the society, choosing and paying the active members, setting funds for innovation, creating the criterion for membership of the sub institutions etc.

Non active members interact and vote online allowing decisions to be quick and simpler to change. Non active members are not paid and instead get the power to decide the future of the meritocratic society.

Bills

Bills are changes proposed by a non active member of a main or sub institution in the federal or local meritocratic government to be voted for by other non active members in the respective institution.

To change any rule or regulation of an institution a non active member will be required to propose a bill which is then voted for by all other non active members. If it wins the vote the proposal in the bill becomes law.

Conclusion

After briefly discussing the meritocratic government let us now discuss how the first meritocratic societies can be created:

The first meritocratic societies

To open the first meritocracy societies we will have to accomplish 6 steps. Let us now discuss each step so that we can understand what it takes to build the first meritocratic societies:

Building the meritocratic apartments

The first step is finding a suitable city of a country to build meritocratic apartments and open the first meritocratic societies. This city and country should be open to change and have enough deregulation such as few zoning laws etc. to allow the easy creation of a meritocratic society.

My choice would be a city in third world countries since they have softer zoning laws and their governments have power concentrated on a few people allowing us to have a chance at entering into agreements with the government in a shorter period of time.

But if a suitable city in a first world country with a progressive government and simple zoning laws is available then the first meritocratic apartments can be built there.

Once the suitable city is chosen, we can move to buying land and building the meritocratic apartments or buying an apartment building and renovating it by adding a food hub, clothes hub and education centers.

The founding members of the apartment will be people who will form the local and federal meritocratic government to help run the project of creating the first meritocratic society.

In order to allow for a federal meritocratic government to be created, 3 or more meritocratic apartments will be built in different places in the city to allow a division of the local meritocratic governments and the federal meritocratic government.

Once the construction of meritocratic apartments is underway, we can start implementing the second step:

Getting people who own venues to switch to meritocratic apartments

The second process is getting owners of the venues nearby the meritocratic apartments such as schools, shops and houses to switch to living in meritocratic apartments.

The deal will be that they will live in meritocratic apartments without paying rent in exchange they will let the meritocratic society freely use their houses, shops, super markets etc. with all the accessories inside as venues of the Community hub.

The venue owners will be convinced through 3 types of arguments:

The main rational arguments given to the owners will be that they get rent free houses in the meritocratic apartments and live free from house chores saving them time, money and increasing their convenience.

The main ethical arguments given to venue owners will be that they are spear heading the future of humanity and also helping reduce evil in the world since people will use their venues as a safe outlet to express their harmful emotions.

The main emotional argument given to venue owners will be that the venues will be uninhabitable since most people in the nearby areas will move to the meritocratic apartments such as their Neighbors, shops etc.

Once enough venue owners have been convinced and have signed the contract agreement with us we can then move to the third step:

Getting people who are in risk of becoming jobless because of meritocratic apartments to join meritocratic apartments

The third process is getting people who will lose their jobs because of meritocratic apartments to switch to living in meritocratic apartments.

These people include the people who work on transportation, sell clothes, food, pharmaceuticals etc. in the area where the meritocratic apartments are built.

These people will lose their jobs and businesses because most people in the area will move to meritocratic apartments which will use the food and clothes hub to offer most goods to people making the local shops irrelevant.

The deal will be that they will live in meritocratic apartments without paying rent in exchange they will give a certain number of hours a week to act as characters in other people’s lives.

The community members will be convinced through 3 types of arguments:

The main rational argument will be that they get rent free houses in the meritocratic apartments and live free from house chores saving them time, money and increasing their convenience.

The main ethical argument will be that they are spear heading the future of humanity and also helping reduce evil in the world since they will be helping other people express their harmful emotions by acting as characters in their lives.

The main emotional argument given to jobless people will be that they will have a competitive advantage anywhere else they go since they have a lower cost of living allowing them to out price competitors in any venture they start.

Starting to sell lives for people to live

After the first three steps, the meritocratic society will have venues, accessories and characters for the community hub to use to offer different lives to people in the surrounding community or city.

The fourth step will be to create and market life stories for people to live. The life stories will be for children, adults and people of all ages.

The meritocratic society will be able to offer these at a low price since they don’t have to pay rent for venues or wages for characters ensuring many people can afford them and use them to express their emotions.

Transfer the local meritocratic government

After the four steps we will have managed to create meritocratic apartments and a community hub.

The fifth step will be to remove the founding members and have other members living in the meritocratic society run the local meritocratic government.

The members of the meritocratic society will be incentivized to become members of the institutions of the local meritocratic government through using profits from the community hub to pay the residents to study and pass merit tests in the education center that will make them members of different institutions of the local meritocratic government.

This step will be considered a success when the institutions of the local meritocratic government can be run without the participation of the founding members meaning the local members govern the meritocratic society.

Transfer the federal meritocratic government

After five steps we will have managed to create meritocratic apartments, community hubs and helped local members run the meritocratic society through the local meritocratic government.

The sixth step will be to dissolve the power of the founding members in the federal meritocratic government by helping other members living in the meritocratic society become members of the federal meritocratic society.

The federal meritocratic government will be introduced through using profits from the community hub to market, pay and convince the intellectual elite of a country to join as residents of the meritocratic apartments and pass tests to become members of the federal meritocratic government.

The type of intellectual elite will depend on the specific institution and will include university professors, industry experts, experienced professionals etc.

Conclusion

After the first five processes, we will have managed to create meritocratic apartments, a community hub, local meritocratic governments and a federal meritocratic government.

From here the next step to creating a meritocratic society won’t be in the hands of founding members but in all the people living in meritocratic societies who are members of the federal meritocratic government.

They can decide to go with a local approach and increase the number of meritocratic societies or enter into agreements with the government of the country depending on the situation.

This means that from here the meritocratic society will develop dialectically and act as the example of why it’s the best government system in the world.

Other people will be able to join the meritocratic government by building and becoming members of a meritocratic society and passing merit tests for the federal or local meritocratic government.
